Seasons of Change

While not directly related to couponing - this tip/idea is about saving money!

As we all know, seasons come and go and with each season comes various fresh fruits and vegetables that are in season.  Some you are able to store for the long run better than others.

Recently, Aldi's grocery store had pints of blueberries on sale for $.99!  That's a deal anytime, but especially when blueberries are super easy to freeze and store.  In the off season, a pint of blueberries can go for around $4.00!

So, I loaded up and bought 5 pints (now looking back, I probably should have bought more, but we have limited freezer space in our apartment).  For blueberries, it's a matter of washing them and putting them in freezer bags to store.  [Don't forget to put the date on the freezer bag so you know when they were put in and you always use the oldest stored fruit/veggie first]

We like them in pancakes or in smoothies or in cobbler....  So by storing some, we will have some for the winter and can enjoy the delicious blueberries knowing we paid 1/4 of the cost and spent a few minutes cleaning and bagging them!
